The concept
01
A keynote is an hour. A workshop is a day. Experiences are the multi-day container — adventure-style immersions and offsites for small teams ready to step out of routine.
The arc
02
Every experience follows the same four-step arc, regardless of whether the terrain is a surf break, a snowfield, a horse trail, or a peak. The specifics get designed to your team. The shape does not.
01
Discovery
A 30-minute call with the person planning the trip. Who's coming. What they can handle.
02
Design
Jon builds the itinerary — format, location, guide team, pace — around your specific group.
03
The trip
The adventure itself. Jon leads the group alongside vetted local guides who run the technical piece.
04
Debrief
Integration circle on the final evening. Jon facilitates. What came up out there. What each person is carrying home.
The formats
03
Location is chosen with you — Jon's own network of coastal, alpine, and backcountry destinations, or terrain within reach of your team.

1–5 days
Surfing every day. Beginners learn ocean safety, how to read waves, and how to get to their feet. Experienced surfers work on performance. Everyone picks up surf-specific training routines they can take home. Time between sessions for meals, hangs, and a reset from the pace of daily life.

2–4 days
Mountain climbing. Could be Mount Shasta or another Pacific Northwest volcano, or the biggest peak within reach of your team. Full guided ascent — acclimatization (if needed), technique, summit push, descent. A physical and mental objective the team trains for, moves toward, and achieves together.

2–4 days
Backcountry travel, year-round. Winter: hut- or lodge-based, skis or snowshoes. Summer: backpacking with hut, lodge, or camp nights. The kind of country you only reach under your own power.
2–3 days
A guided horse pack trip — usually two nights in the high country. Basic horsemanship on day one. Ride in, camp under stars, ride out. Moving through terrain on an animal is a different kind of movement — and a different kind of bond. Fly fishing at remote lakes and streams on request.

3–5 days
A point-to-point ride, route matched to the group's riding skill. Gear packs on the bikes; overnights at inns or camps along the route. Moving through country by motorcycle is a study in presence. Sounds, smells, wind, and the kind of attention the road demands.
By design
Sailing week, whitewater rafting trip, fishing camp, desert traverse — or something specific to your team's local terrain.
What makes it different
04
01
Each is a format Jon has spent serious time in — some at the highest level, all with years of experience behind them.
Surf
13 years as a professional surfer at the highest level of the sport.
Peak
Multiple successful high-altitude summits in the Himalaya.
Backcountry
Lives full-time in the High Sierra (Northern California). Multi-day expeditions in winter and summer backcountry — snow camping, avalanche mitigation, alpine traverses. Expedition experience in Alaska's most extreme terrain.
Horse pack
Multi-week pack trips across Mongolia, Ecuador, and the Peruvian Andes. Extensive work with the Lakota in South Dakota.
Motorcycle
20+ years riding. Country-crossing tours from two days to a month, on dirt bike, dual sport, and street.
02
Every itinerary is built from scratch around your specific group — who's coming, what they can handle.
03
Every guide personally vetted by Jon. Certified mountain guides on peaks, surf coaches at breaks, wranglers on horse trips, avalanche-certified backcountry guides in winter.
04
Founder of Waves For Water. First responder across 50+ major disasters and active conflicts, 51 countries. Former professional athlete. The design instinct behind these trips comes from that unique lived experience.
05
Five to twelve is the sweet spot. Every experience is designed at that scale.
One trip, designed for your group.
Built from scratch every time.

Common questions
07
Do people need prior experience?
Depends on format. Surf, horse, and most backcountry trips can be designed for anyone from beginners with willing bodies through advanced. Peak and moto require baseline experience, discussed in the discovery call.
What if my team isn't athletic?
Each format scales. A team of desk-dwellers doesn't go up Mount Shasta. A team of former athletes doesn't get the beginner version. Jon designs to the group.
Who's actually leading the technical piece?
Jon leads the design, the facilitation, and the arc. Technical experts lead the terrain.
Is this like a retreat program?
Retreats tend to be programs — set format, published calendar, opt-in individual. Every Odyssey 45 experience is a unique and custom design for each group.
Can you run something internationally?
All formats can run internationally. Domestic is the default; international is a case-by-case call, raised in the discovery call.
What does it cost?
Every experience is custom-scoped, and cost tracks the format, group size, location, and guide team. That conversation happens on the discovery call once we know what you're actually building.
